Table of contents format shows incorrectly in devices

Hi
I am using Mobipocket and Calibre to produce ebooks.
In both applications the PREVIEW shows H1 & H2 levels in Table of Contents CORRECTLY formatted, but in Kindle Fire and Kindle Paperwhite devices both levels look almost the same and are aligned left instead of H1 large font and H2 being indented. I have tried .prc, .mob, and .epub with no differences.

I guess that this could be a case of editing the original html files but I do not know where to look. Can anyone please help ?

Thanks in anticipation.

Is the TOC you are looking at the one inside the book or the one you see using the TOC command to view it? Only the one inside the book is under your control. The other one is generated by the eBook viewer and while it uses your data it does not use your CSS or any CSS for that matter.

Hi, Thanks for your response,
I have tried 2 ways
1. Using Mobipocket to generate TOC
2. Using TOC from Mobi HTML generated from the original Word document (when no TOC option appears in Kindle).
Both give the same results. Both TOCs actually work, its just that the TOC is very large and would look better broken down into Chapters (H1) and subheadings (H2).

Regards
