How to search for references to non-existent image files
I have found that using Tools->Reports... I can find a list of image files and see how many references to them exist.
But I don't see a way to find if there are references in the html to image files that are not included in the epub. I would like to know if there is a way to find these references to missing files. If not, I propose to consider adding that function to Tools->Reports... Thanks in advance, and for all your amazing work.

Missing images are replaced by image placeholders in Preview visually. So a visual scan in Preview can be fast and effective and part of good proofreading practices.
There is also a contributed plugin that can identify broken links. A missing image should be an example of one. Of course, your best bet would be to run epubcheck as it will identify broken/missing images. You can also use regular expression find and replace to get a list of img tag src values to inspect quite easily. Hope something here helps. Last edited by KevinH; 11-22-2024 at 10:18 AM. |
