cannot email ebooks anymore

I used to be able to email ebooks to my partner but now a get a "failed" error. I have upgraded to El Capitan version 10.11.4 on my mac. i also no longer have the "send to device" icon on my tool bar and have tried multiple times to remove and replace it in preferences but no go. Help! i really miss be able to use Calibre v 2.56.0.

btw, how will i know when someone has responded to

Send-to-Device will automatically appear if and only if you have a device plugged into your computer which calibre recognizes as a known ebook device.

As for the failed error when emailing books, we really cannot help you if we don't know why it failed -- so please post the error log from a failed attempt.
You can view the log of you click Jobs in the lower right corner of the calibre window.

be sure to REPLACE (obscure) your user info withOUT otherwise changing the log

Hello! Thank you for your input. I have an iPhone, the same as i've had for over 2 years. It used to be recognized by Calibre. It used to communicate with Calibre and vice versa without a hitch. i upgraded to El Capitan (version 10.11.4) on my mac. now it doesn't recognize my phone and it doesn't email anymore.
