Ubuntu 16.04
I am running Calibre on Ubuntu 16.04.
- running the Calibre program locally, no problem. I see all libraries I have, can switch between them and add or remove books. But to be able to do this, I have to stop the content server. - Accessing the content server remotely does work, too. But I see only the very first library I created, i.e. nothing to switch. In addition, I cannot change anything, add or remove books. My user has the permission to do this, but the content server does not give me these options. Questions : - how can I make all libraries visible when connectiong to the content server ? - how can I make changes when using the content server ? Thanks |

Run the content server from inside calibre. Click Connect/share->Start content server

Thank you, that works.
Is there a way to get this done automatically when booting the system ? As it is now, the server starts through the system calls. i.e. I have to log on the server system, stop the server, run calibre, start the server, stop the main calibre and log off again. |

Add calibre as a startup program in your desktop environment.

I did and this works, but the content server sees only my first library.
To be more precise, this is the Exec line from the service : ExecStart=/opt/calibre/calibre-server "/media/share/calbel/" So, the server starts and shows me the 'calbel' library. There is no way to switch to another library. Last edited by howi42; 09-22-2017 at 04:34 PM. Reason: more details |

Sometimes it makes sense to read the manual over again ...
Problem was solved easily - do not add any library path in the service file. |
