input on calibre not working

hello,
im trying to set up calibre on my mac running version 10.6.8. I have downloaded the version the website told me to based on my OS version. i cant get the latest as my computer does not support it.

the problem im having is when i try and type in any text field every character is coming up with an "a" i use an app on my ipad as a keyboard and mouse, but ive also tried a standard wireless keyboard and had the same problem.

i tried to fix the problem by downloading an earlier version but still had the same issue. any help would be greatly appreciated.

If there is some program running on your computer to allow that iPad app to work, disable it and try again.
