Glo suddenly not playing nice with Kobo desktop (OSX)
I connected my Glo to Kobo desktop to check for any updates. It kept getting hung up on the syncing part. The pink loading bar would just get stuck. I canceled the sync and restarted and each time I noticed it would creep further up when I did that. I waited several times for it to do it on it's own, finally after 2 hours I just canceled the sync and restarted about 50 times in a row to get the loading bar to go all the way to the end. Now I've gotten there but nothing is happening no matter how many times I cancel the sync and restart it. It gets as far as "updating annotations" and stays there. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

Do you have access to wifi anywhere? OTA updates are far more painless, in my experience, than anything to do with Kobo Desktop. Alternatively you could download the firmware direct (make sure you get the right one) from the sticky in the Kobo Developer's Forum.

I tried the wireless sync and it seemed to update. I'm just still stuck on 3.3.0 so I was thinking maybe the wireless sync wasn't working properly or something since I seem to be the only one that hasn't gotten 3.5.0 yet. :-/

I also had some issues last night when I tried syncing, both with the desktop app and over wifi. It's happened once or twice before very late at night. I've just assumed they were updating their servers or some such thing. I tried again a few hours later and it all went smoothly with no problems.

You're not alone. 3.5.0 rollout was paused and now that it's restarted you'll likely be getting 3.8.0 instead. But it's still a phased rollout so you might not get it right away. Changing your affiliate (Bestbuy seems to be the popular one for early updates) or sideloading the update are your only options other than waiting.
