Phyton Error query
Hi
In an inspired (not) attempt to try and fix my Calibre problem without actually having to do anything to Calibre I tried a Windows 7 System Restore back to the period just after I loaded 1.48 The system restore I worked perfectly except I know have no working Calibre. When trying to open Calibre I get the following error message Python function terminated unexpectedly 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'load_style' (Error Code 1) To probably make matters worse I tried just installing 1.48 again and the message above is after that attempt. Am I now at the stage where a full uninstall and reinstall is necessary? ![]() I'm just trying to get it sorted today as once i'm back at work tomorrow I won't have any time. Thanks |

Well if you absolutely cannot uninstall calibre, simply delete C:\Program Files\Calibre2 (or wherever you installed calibre) using windows explorer.
Then download the calibre portable version which has no installer. Inside the portable version you will find a folder named Calibre, inside that folder will be calibre.exe, simply run that and it should work just like a normally installed calibre. |

Thank you again Kovid.
It appears to have uninstalled Calibre now. I deleted everything it threw up so what will be will be. I'm now taking a back up of my Calibre Library folder which has over 5000 books in it before I try an install again. I'm leaving the original library in the same location it is now in the hope it will pick up the location during the install. |

Thanks for your help Kovid. I now have 1.48 installed again with all my books showing. I've lost all my extra plugins though so i'll gradually load those again. I thought that might happen.
