Aura Device-only collections?

When I use KCM for my Kindle Paperwhite, I'm able to make device-only collections (for ex: Current Reads) that the plugin leaves alone when syncing with Calibre.

Is there a way to do something similar for the Kobo Aura? Every time I sync the Aura with Calibre, it overwrites all of my collections and deletes any that I make on the device that are non-Calibre ones.

Sorry, the driver only supports one way (calibre to device) collection management. And there is no way currently to prevent changes being made for a collection.

But, I can have a think about implementing this. Is KCM the Kindle Collections plugin in calibre? Or something else? And how does it let you specify the collections not to touch?

Yes, KCM is the Kindle Collections Manager plugin. I took screenshots of the options in the plugin's Customization view - hovering over the relevant bits for more info. I hope it helps!

That's interesting. I've seen the plugin but haven't seen it in use as I don't have a Kindle. All of that isn't practical in the driver. But, adding a field with a list of names to ignore might be. I will put it on my TODO list, but I can't say when I'll get to it.
