Dead keys not working

With calibre 2.0 and Kubuntu 14.04, dead keys (press accent, then press "a", and I should get "á") are not working at all (I get just "a").

Previously, I also had some trouble, I got "'a", but that was usually fixed by selecting something else with the mouse, that doesn't work now.

Has anyone experienced this? Any solution?

EDIT: Suspecting it might be a Qt5 issue, I tried this simple pyQt5 script and it works all right with the dead keys.

Should I assume it works for everyone else? Anyone with KDE on (K)ubuntu 14.04?

I wouldn't think that KDE has anything to do with it.

There are a few linux specific plugins missing from the Qt5 bundled with calibre. I will add them for the next release, which should fix this.
