Series display in Jacket
I've been using Calibre since version 8.3.1. I love it. Recently, I think with version 1.48 or so, the way metadata is displayed in the jacket changed. I've looked, but can't find, the way to change it back. I've attached the old and new versions of one of my jackets. The change is the way the series number is displayed. Not a major thing, but I'm kinda anal about keeping things the same. If I can't find a way to change it back, I'll either have to stop updating Calibre, or reconvert most of my 1700 books. Does anyone know what I'm missing?

I see a Roman numeral vs Arabic numeral. Is that your problem? Preferences: Behavior: Book Details (tab): use Roman... |

Thank You , Kovid, for the quick response, and for Calibre. I'll look through the Calibre site for the page you mentioned.

@kevmsr - you'll need to put a jacket override folder into %CALIBRE_CONFIG_DIRECTORY%\resources and change the template.xhtml file, instructions are in that file.
See Customizing calibre — Overriding Icons, Templates etc I don't think the setting in Look and Feel->Book Details has any bearing on what you see in the jacket. BR |

In case you decide to keep it this way, you don't have to "reconvert". You can just use the Polish plugin and just do the Book Jacket Metadata option only which pops up to choose once you click Polish.
It will take a while for 1700 books to run (been there, done that), but it is less time and drain on system resources than reconverting just to update that. It works either way (again, been there, done that). What's interesting is that I have the latest Calibre update and do not have the new format (which I prefer). I'm currently getting help learning how to customize that page anyhow. |
