Default book language to be saved in content.opf?
Is there a way to setup calibre so it puts a selected default language in the content.opf file of ePUB?
Currently it's always: Code:
<dc:language>UND</dc:language> It's greatly help with hyphenation on devices.

Are there devices that support hyhenation? While there isn't currently an option to set language in the GUI, you can set it via the command line tool ebook-convert (the --language) option.
The GUI option is waiting for general support for a language field in the database. |

Yup, at least my eClicto (rebranded Netronix EB600) supports it.
Here's a test (file 1 generated with calibre 0.6.37, second one is first one verbatim copy, except the dc:language in content.opf manually changed): With Code:
<dc:language>UND</dc:language> ![]() With Code:
<dc:language>pl-PL</dc:language> ![]() Having all the GUI options for that (setting the default language of book, changing each book's language, etc.) would be awesome. |

Hi,
I discovered, that Calibre uses the GUI language to set the default language of a converted book. Normally I read german books, but sometimes I also read english books. (OK, not so often, like you can see at my grammatics ![]() ).If I want to convert an english book, I always have to set the GUI language to english and restart Calibre, to keep the default book language. After the conversion, I have to set the language and restart again. Is there a shorter way without restart? Maybe in the future? Bratzzo |
