Yes, I just saw that in my local news web site in the Philadelphia area. It doesn't come cheap. Amazon Prime members pay a flat $5.99 shipping fee while non-Prime shoppers pay about $10 for that first item and 99 cents for each additional. I guess $5.99 is not too bad for guaranteed 1-day delivery.

I missed out on the 80 zip codes in the Dallassh@!#s/Fort Worthless area included in the Amazon one day delivery option. I'm about 3 miles south of the southern most zip code! Oh well, next day is good enough in most cases, and free two day is what I usually opt for anyway. Still, I can't believe they didn't drop down south enough to cover the I-20 corridor.

I think it means:
  • prime: $5.99 flat fee per order (unlimited items)
  • non-prime: $10 first item, $.99 each additional item (3 items for $11.98)

I just moved about 15 miles from where I lived. The old address (zip code) qualified for the service, the new one doesn't. (Grumble, grumble.)

(I guess it's time to move back to my old address.)
