As my first post let me start with a line of admiration, it's a very useful website and a great community!

Have been reading reviews for a while, and now I'm about to go for my first reader purchase with a little help request ... (to be continued in proper forum)

Hi ddaneel and welcome to the Forum. After reading lots of opinions on this Forum, I bought a Sony 505 back in January and like it a lot. Lots of good friendly advice here. And be sure and tell us what you finally decide on.

None of the current products are perfect -- which means you'll probably need to look for the device that comes closest to meeting your desires. And, just like soft drinks, there's room in the marketplace for many flavors!

Here you'll find information on the capabilities -- and shortcomings -- of all the major products to help you make your decision. And once you've bought a dedicated reader, feel free to complain about the things you find most irksome and ask for help if you run into problems.

This site has lots of books are available for the taking -- due to the generosity of those who have mastered the quirks of book-making software. Help yourself to any and all that appeal to you. And, if you find that books you want aren't available -- and you're so inclined -- convert those to one or more of the e-book formats and share them here.
