Suggestions for travel wall charger
I would like to buy a travel 110-220 input wall charger for the Glo. Can anyone recommend a good one that I could purchase on Amazon? I am somewhat confused with all the specs and don't want to damage the device.

Looking at Amazon, I noted a Vinsic 2.4A USB Charger 12W Dual USB Wall Charger (100V-240V) which has the wide input voltage and will even charge a tablet that requires more current than a standard USB adapter can supply. You'll still need the adapters for the North American style plug to whatever is being used locally. Regards, David |

If your USB charger is rated for 110V & 220V input it should be printed on the charger brick/body in fine print. If not and it has USA standard plug it might burn out your charger when plugged into 220.

European plug and specs
http://www.amazon.de/EasyAcc%C2%AE-A...=cm_cr_pr_pb_t Since I see Greece in your signature. And I don't know where you travel. I use this charger everyday for everything, kindle including. |

At the local stores, which are also near a uni, you can get iPhone charging blocks for a fiver. They're the part that connects to the outlet/mains and you'd need a USB cable to connect to the reader. The nice thing is that many stores seem to have them not just for our plug-type but for other countries in the school supplies or luggage sections. Saw a set of them in the school supplies section yesterday.
That would be the way I go. |

Thank you all for the suggestions!
One question: the Kobo Glo spec manual page says it requires 500 mA for wall charging. These chargers output 2.1-2.4 A - is this a problem? Does it matter if I get one with the micro-USB cable (EasyAcc) or the regular size USB (Vinsic)? They both look helpful so I may get both. (I guess that is really 2 questions :-) I have the plug adapters, as I go between EU and USA. I purchase most electronics when I am in the USA. Prices are generally better, although they are getting more comparable these days. I just need a wall charger 'cause I don't know what my parents have for a desktop computer and I don't want to bother them to leave it on so I can charge my new Glo. Thanks again! |

What really matter are the input and output voltages. Particularly, the charger must not output a voltage higher than 5V as it could burn your e-reader. But that's the standard USB output voltage, so any USB charger should do regarding that voltage. |

I find this an advantage since I have quite a few devices that use different USB connectors so I can have one charger and use my existing USB cable collection with it. Regards, David |

@DNSB,
Yes, this seems very versatile to me also. And has good ratings. Have you charged your Glo with it? |

For me it's the other way round. All my current devices have micro usb port so one charger with fixed cable is all I need.

Some (cheap) chargers may make touchscreens completely unusable while they are plugged. I don't know exactly the reason (lack of some kind of shielding, probably), but it's quite annoying with the current touchscreen-only devices.
