Personal Screensavers

On the Nook, you can create a file and fill it with png/jpg images. This will then be used as a screensaver folder. Nook cycles through the pictures when it's in sleep. You can have as many folders as you want.

Is there a way to replicate this on the Kobo Aura? I have many books that don't have covers, so that feature is pointless for me.

When I had a PRS650 I had a personalized cover (Calvin and Hobbes) with my phone number and email address in case I ever left my reader somewhere. That was kind of handy.

With the Kobo Start Menu you can make your own HTML page, including an image if you want. Here is one that I made, the posts around it should be enough to make your own. This is a Poweroff screen, I have my sleep in Koreader setup so it is just the page I am on frozen, so I can clean the screen or pocket it. A quick flick of the power slider and everything is as it was when put it to sleep.

There is also the demo mode, in the stock Kobo software. You could also make
a .cbz file, to read, then sleep on the page you want.

Luck;
Ken

There is a screen saver included in the CFW package (cf. this link for some information on the project). You can find three examples of which parts of the package to use and what changes are needed on the device here. I admit that I never tested it myself.

Thanks for the tips, the CFW package looks good. I have to replace my Aura, but I'll try that in the future.
