If anyone wants to test it or just take a look, I have create a Kindlet to read mangas online. The mangas are loaded from [pirate site name deleted by moderator]

I have tested it in a Kindle 4, so I am not sure if it would work in order versions. A friend was unable to run my signed package in a Kindle 3...

The packaged was created with Kindlet-1.3.jar and signed with the developer.keystore using the alias for test (dktest, ditest and dntest).

Yup, 1.3 is the K4 version.

We're using 1.2 for KUAL, with the very few things from 1.3 we really need (K4 keycodes) hardcoded.

Apart from that, the very nature of the source used will probably make this post short-lived, you've been warned

Could the test keys not be available in the device? I read in another thread a guy was having some similar issue because the device was not register on Amazon.

Which you will have to re-install after every time you register or un-register the device.

Thank you all. I'm thinking about building it against the Kindlet 1.2, like indicated by NiLuJe. Do you guys know what version of json_simple and log4j are available for the K3?

Not a Java wizard, but possibly the fact that it doesn't rely on 1.3-specific stuff is enough to make it backwards compatible?

(I remember breaking KUAL that way, but I *was* using the K4 keycode constants at the time ;p).

And specifically HERE to see what basic differences there are.

Kual itself demonstrates skeletal - if "extreme corner case" and protracted - versions of the two frameworks in action.

just ignore all the parsing logic and look at the basic framework. easy to port your stuff from one framework to the other once you see the differences, no doubt.

Just uses the newer frame type from java IIRC.

Since I don't own a Kindle Touch, I'll just have to wait if someone wanna code a touch version and do a pull request.
