You have the Cover set in the Library (spreadsheet)?
Select the book: Tap 'O': copy the cover file (rename as needed)

'O' opens the books folder where everything is stored (do not change any name or delete while there)

If the cover is only in the EPUB:
Unpack the EPUB (tap 'U' ) or get the free, standalone tool from the makers of AWP

Not sure if I understand your solution. But I just want to be able to select some books and export their covers to a folder (all in one folder). I am trying to get some couple hunderd books covers so I probably will dread it if I try to do this manually.

Calibre was probably never intended to do this.

All covers have the same Name (cover.jpg) , which does not matter to Calibre since they live in individual book folders.

My 'solution' is to open the folder (via Calibre: 'O' ), copy to a new location, then NAME cover manually since they all start with the same name.

Repeat till done

Select all books->right click save to disk->choose save to disk in a single directory

Now open windows explorer (or whatever you use) and filter the list of files in the directory to only show files with .jpg extension, select all copy to another folder, you are done.

how does it work-around the claim that all image files are called cover.jpg. does it rename them all for you, with meaningful names , or put them in sub folders ?
