Can't email to Kindle
I just got a Paperwhite from my sister, registered it, set it up, everything is working. But I can't seem to email ebooks to the Kindle. I converted them to mobi using Calibre and set up the send via email feature. I am not getting error messages and all the attempts I made are showing up in my email outbox in Gmail. I also tried sending directly from Gmail and not using Calibre. Again, no error messages and it's showing up in my sent mail, but it's not on the Kindle and if I log into Amazon, it is not in my personal documents.
My whole purpose in in upgrading back to the Kindle from Kobo was to be able to synchronize between my eink device and my phone, so I really need to get the personal documents feature working. Any ideas? |

If you're using either a PC or a Mac computer, try Send to Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle/pc
I find it more convenient than e-mailing. This may not be relevant for you, but what I also like is that it gives you a choice as to which of your Kindle devices to send to and whether you wish to store a specific document in the cloud or not (you'd probably want to, for the synchronising, but sometimes there might be no need for a specific document or ebook). |

Hmmm. Just did that, tried sending two books and it said everything went through okay, but they are not showing up yet. Maybe there is just a server delay or something and all of it will show up later? I sent the first books last night though so it should be there by now...

If you are only looking at "Books", there's a good chance they are under "Docs". Try changing the view to "Docs" or "All Items" and see if they show up.
ETA: Did you send the ones you sent via STK to the cloud? Are they listed at whatever the Manage Your Kindle page is called now (something about devices and content I think?)? Last edited by copyrite; 05-17-2014 at 11:16 AM. |

Thank you! That worked. The ones I emailed using the email to Kindle feature still have not shown up, but if I use the send-to-kindle app, it is working now. I do need to select 'documents' to see them; they don't show up as books and I can't seem to list everything all together (books and docs).

I have the same problem. I did send several E-Books to the device. Doesn't work. I haven't changed any configuration.
I suspect Amazon has some server problems right now. |

Have you authorized the email address you are sending from? You have to do that or the emailed docs don't go through, to avoid spam.

I was having a similar problem helping a friend to set up email to kindle using gmail. Books seemed to be sending ok but were not arriving. At the same time I was able to send and receive using my own previously set up system, so we knew it wasn't a server issue. Eventually turned out that Calibre needed him to enter his @googlemail.com email address (rather than gmail) it's a very old address and don't think he has ever clicked the link to convert to gmail. Anyhow also remembered to add the googlemail address to settings in kindle approved emails page, and now working fine. I hope this helps someone - we spent hours trying to figure out why it wouldn't work.
