New Calibre application icon?
Hi. I'm a new member of the forums and also of Calibre software.

I'm not sure who to contact exactly, but I'd like to design a new icon for Calibre. Something a bit more polished than the current icon.

Firstly, would people be open to that? Secondly, who can I contact about it?
I've made a few icons in the past — you can see them on my website.

Not sure what's the best approach — maybe the powers that be (if there are any) can contact me through the form on my website?

Just make your icon and post it here. I can't guarantee it will be used, but if I like it enough, I'll think about it switching.

Sorry, but that Icon primarily conveys 'Reading'

Calibre is more about 'Library' (multiple books)

@davidosus I'm sure you meant well posting to a 3+ year old thread with an icon that has no attribute. Since this thread was created calibre has changed it's icon. I attached the old and new calibre logos to this post.

Obviously Kovid is open to change since he changed the main logo that another user submitted to him. It just has to represent calibre better than the current icon.

Personally I don't see the icon changing anytime soon. Maybe if someone did a complete overhaul and developed a new kick-ass comprehensive icon set, then maybe the logo might change to match the new scheme.

Until then I am more than satisfied with the new (since this thread was created) icon.
