I have a kindle touch ,ver 5.3.2 . Last days, I get wrong time . Now , I get a good method :
I am in china Shanghai (+8 zone). 1.copy timezone file "shanghai" to " /usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/". (It can be found in recent linux version.) 2 . Edit file "/etc/TZ" ,change "UTC" to "Asia/shanghai". ( Using " vi" or other tools) Reboot kindle touch, turn on wifi .After severial minutes, you may get correct time for your domain ! Sorry for my english level ! ![]() |

Please enter the following four commands on a single command line and post the (four) lines of output:
Code:
hwclock -u ; hwclock -l ; date -u ; date Last edited by knc1; 05-27-2014 at 10:53 AM. |

Hi! It is the picture of output .
The time outputed by "date" is same as kindle touch's UI.

Thanks for that information.
Something is still not correct about the time and timezone settings, although the UI shows the desired local time. (The hardware clock appears to be mis-set and this combination, along with the "CST" (-6 timezone) will probably result in date errors.) Hmm... You have kterm running - - Try: touch /mnt/us/empty.txt ls -l /mnt/us/empty.txt ( that option is lower case ell - as in: "long" ) And compare the date/time stamp used for the file system with what is shown in the UI. - - - - - The thought that I have in mind is problems with the display order of items in the user interface. (The clock does not have to be "correct" - just monotonically increasing based on a fairly recent year.) Last edited by knc1; 05-29-2014 at 09:03 AM. |
