Perfect contrast the first page of a chapter

Hi all.
I have long noticed that the first page of each chapter is shown with perfect contrast regardless of screen refresh rate options. Whereas the 2nd and subsequent always a little worse by contrast. It is this feature of rendering? Can I make the reader "think" that each page - the first page of this chapter?

Look in Settings | Reading Settings and change the "Refresh value" to 1.

Because the default firmware only fully refreshes the screen at the beginning of a chapter.

I think that behavior depends on the device. On the Glo, the refresh happens every "x" pages where "x" is the value set in settings, and of course also at the start of a new chapter.

I seem to recall that the Aura functions differently with regards to the screen refresh.

My Glo doesn't do an extra refresh at the beginning of a chapter, and I don't see any difference in ghosting on the first page of a chapter compared to any other page.

Of course the first page of the chapter usually has a chapter title, and if it is in a big bold font then that might cause some extra ghosting on the following pages in the area the title was.

Kobo Aura default is indeed to completely refresh the screen once per chapter, on the first page of the chapter. I believe only the Aura (and not the Mini, Touch, Glo, or Aura HD) have the option of once per chapter, and it's the only device that has it as a default.

My mistake - I thought it was all the current lit devices on current firmware, for some reason. Maybe this has somehow become enabled on the OP's device? Loamaro: how often are you noticing the full black flash when you don't set the refresh for every page?

I hope I understood you correctly: full black flash is the same thing that happens in a full refresh of the screen. In this case, full black flash match the setting refresh rate of the screen. I.e., at the beginning of each Chapter of the text clearer, regardless of any settings. Of course, this is most noticeable when refresh the screen every > 10-20 pages, and it is especially good when refresh the screen every > 50-60 pages.

P.S. I noticed this feature since the beginning of each Chapter in another Nook Simple Touch, but I thought that it's just a single marriage of my device. However, Kobo Glo the same. And here at the Sony PRS-T3, I have not noticed such features: the beginning of Chapter no different from the other pages. Apparently, it depends on the display driver? This is a rhetorical question.
