Help for a newbie

Please forgive me for asking questions, but I am totally new to ebooks and ereaders and the terminology used.

I am using Calibre v1.37 on a Windows 7 Pro 64bit PC. I have a Nexus 7 tablet with FBReader installed, and will soon own a Kobo Aura. At the present time the ebooks I have are all ePUb documents without any DRM limitations. I do hope in the near future to have additional books from Ontario's online Public Library (Overdrive) and others purchased from Chapters/Indigo bookstore here in Canada.

My first question is: is there a way to sync last page read between the copy I have on the PC and the copy I have on the Nexus 7 tablet? I've read the Calibre Help manual and did a search here on the forum, but came up empty-handed. I will probably want to do the same between the tablet, PC and the Kobo, once I have it.

My second question is: Is there anything I need be aware of about how Calibre and the Kobo work together?

I am totally new to this world of ebooks and appreciate your patience and all the help you can offer. Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Welcom

There are NO standards for (reading progress) synch so don't hold your breath for cross device/application sync.

There are PI with some superior enhancements up in the PI subforum. Take a gander and see if any meet your needs

Also look in the Kobo forum here. You might find the instructions on Shelf / Collection management to be quite useful.

Thank you both for the quick response. I'm off to check out both the Plug-in and Kobo forums
