Problem reading EPub book in Moon+ Reader

I have been looking at various EReading software and was thinking about getting Moon+ Pro so I got the free version to try. However the first book I am trying to read is not displaying the chapters properly, it ignores the first several chapters displaying only the chapter title and claiming they only contain one page... it displays two of the middle chapters of the book correctly however no other parts of the book. The book displays correctly on Sumatra on my PC and through Google Play Books on my tablet. I want to store my books locally on my tablet in file structures of my own choosing and accessing EPub Mobi and PDF formats. Have I tripped some sort of DRM? or is there some other problem?

Moon Reader has glitched on me once, several weeks ago. I was reading an omnibus edition of a half-dozen novels, and it repeatably skipped from the exact same place about halfway through the third one to the beginning of the fourth one. I tried the same book in Cool Reader and Aldiko, and the both of them displayed it properly. So yes, I think there is a problem with the occasional book in Moon Reader. The book was DRM-free. I didn't see anything in the HTML code that looked strange.

Hmmmm.... anyone know any other good reader that allows me to organise my own libraries/file system. And can read EPub, PDF, and Mobi? Or at least Epub and PDF?

I don't know how you want to organise your library, but I can recommend Mantano Reader Premium. It's on sale at the moment, and as far as layout is concerned it is the only one I found that displays publishers formatting correctly. It opens epub (also DRM) and PDF and has some more neat features. Moon Reader has become buggier and buggier with every update, that's really annoying.

I have my library in a folder, so when I want to read a book, I open the folder, search for the book in my file manager and open it with my favourite reader.

I second LucyOne's preference. I had a brief flirtation with UB reader recently but have gone back to Mantano.

Try PocketBook Reader:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ader&hl=es_419

You can read PDF, EPUB, DjVu, TXT, FB2, CHM, html, CBZ, CBR and СBT books. And is quite good (I use it).

And to read .mobi files nothing better than Kindle for Android:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ndle&hl=en_419

Regards
Rubén

I like Montano, but don't use it because they see sync between devices as a revenue stream, and I won't pay extra for that feature.

I think the Moon+ problem is if a section doesn't have an entry in the table of contents. I've seen this a few times and added a toc entry to it in Calibre and Moon+ was fine after that.

If you use Calibre, the Calibre Companion app does a great job in organizing your books and it will open books with pretty much any reader.

It sounds like a problem with the epub formatting ... you could try reconverting it by running it through Caliber.. I use Moon + on my tablet and have had no real problems.. epub is a very "loose" standard and thus open to all sorts of issues and it displaying correctly with one piece of software will not guarantee it will display on another... I have epubs that display without probs on my tablet but are total crap when I try and read them on my T1.. running it through calibre will at least give you a reasonably generic epub file...

Aldiko is still a great little e-reader app.
