Kris: Fonts?

As per this thread, we can now install fonts we prefer to use, onto our idevices...

Wondering what might be possible for Marvin.

Can you alter font choice to just include System Fonts instead of the small current selection (thats pretty nice, but I just use trebuchet). There are a couple I'd love to have access to, for reading.

@kyteflyer - I understand that that method requires the "host" app do enumerate and display all fonts in the system. Currently Marvin doesn't do this (by design) as it would also list terrible reading fonts (Zapfino, Dingbats, Chalkduster *choke*, etc...).

On the other hand, I find using another app to be more appealing than making Marvin support side-loading fonts expecting users to mess around with the file system. I'll definitely look into this.

Maybe just put it as a setting we can turn on and off and have it off as default.

Or have a new setting that allows choosing the ones to list when this is tapped.

Yes, you're right, and all the iOS system fonts are, indeed, displayed (yes to choking on chalkduster). But in the two apps that do it (shubook and stanza) theres no apparent load on the app, so might be worth a look...

Sideloading would be good, too. There are a couple of apps which allow this, as well. *Thinks* Duokan, IIRC. And something else I really cant remember.
[edit] oh wait. the readers I am thinking of have built in servers and they do it somehow like that.

I have loaded a font with this method, but the fonts appear in a remarkably small subset of apps unfortunately. It's a nice dodge, but it would be great if Apple allowed fonts to be added properly. Failing that, I hope Marvin allows sideloading fonts soon!
