copy series name to tag ?

is there an easy way to bulk add series name for some/all books as an additional tag ?

because I am using the calibre cloud app- it can search tags but it can't search series names - so a quick fix/workaround would be to add my series names o my existing tags ?
i could do it manually fro the ones that i am most interested in , & probably will, but I am curious as to whether it could be automated

Yes. Use bulk metadata edit search & replace. Use:
Search mode: regular expression
Source field: Series
Search for: (.*)
Replace with: \1
Destination field: tags
Mode: Append to field
Split result: checked

Be sure to verify the test results. It wouldn't hurt to make a backup before doing this on a lot of books.

Since it can sort books by Series the fact it can't search by series seems like an oversight on the part of the developer. You might want to drop him an email about this lack of search capability.

Of course if you know the series name, sorting by series and dragging the right hand bar down to whichever letter the series starts with will find the series in seconds.

I have emailed him about that, & also because I bought the pro version from him at google store onto my other tablet hoping to then backup & copy it onto kindle but it is cunningly copy-protected. So I've sent him my proof of purchase & asked nicely if he'll mail me an installer to use on my Kindle. The calibre cloud app is not in the Amazon app store.

the developer is one of those annoying people who invite email then ignore it !
he says this on the google play site but I've sent 3 different messages already...

If you have questions, issues, or feature requests please email me, it is more convenient to use email for support than replying to reviews since the reply length is limited. Almost all new features come from user requests.
