CSS: is space before unit legal?

The Calibre viewer/editor will obey this style, but the Adobe renderer (as used in Kobos etc) does not:

Code:
text-indent: 1.5 em;
There is a space between 1.5 and em. Is the space legal according to the standard?

Edit: I meant text-indent, not text-align. Oops!

The space doesn't matter at all.

Please read this: http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_text_text-align.asp

The value you give that property is incorrect.

If you want to move the text a bit further from the start then use the text-indent property.

Please see my edit - I meant text-indent. Sorry! So is the space legal?

The space between text-indent: and the value is legal, the space between the actual value 1.5 and the units em is ilegal

correct form:
Quote:
text-indent: 1.5em;
or:
text-indent:1.5em;

In my experience Calibre Editor's "Check Book" identifies correctly the likes of "1.5 em" (space between 1.5 and em) as not being valid.
