Importing iTunes books + metadata into Calibre?

Hello, I'm sure this has been asked before but I really can't find an answer. Anyhow, I've got about 1400 ebooks and PDF's in iTunes on my Mac and in iBooks on my iPad/iPhone, but I want to migrate to Calibre on my Mac with Shubook or Marvin on iOS.

I've been able to export all ebooks from iTunes into one single directory which I can easily import in Calibre, but without metadata. Also I'm able to get a listing of all ebooks with some metadata from iItunes into Calibre, but I don't know how to match those two together. I'm not looking forward to fix all metadata by hand

Anyone an idea to fix this??

I Used Marvin XD and Calibre to move about 50 books, with metadata, from iBooks and Calibre on my MacBook to Marvin on my iPad 3. Marvin-Calibre setup allows you to move metadata in bulk. Try with a few books not 1400!. I think you need iOS 6 or later for the iPad.

Calibre's metadata import is fairly automated these days. Its still time consuming but not like it used to be. If you want the metadata, that may be the only sensible way to go.
