Prices on Kobo UK must be a mistake!
I've just been browsing the Kobo UK store and looked at the childrens' books by Lois Lowry. Most of her books are at least £26 and several are over £70!!

Bless this Mouse is 'discounted' from £115.79 to 'only' £71.87
(that's $191 discounted to $118.55)

amazon kindle has the same title for £9, so what's going on?

Obviously some kind of problems with their pricing... I did a check on another book using luzme.com, it was recently £7.67, but has jumped up to £67, while everywhere else sells it for £3-£8.

@Peter T et al ... I think that Kobo Cust Care should've escalated this issue up the line, and appropiate attention give to it.

Because as you say Peter, it's not necessarily within their knowledge to deal with a matter of this nature, however, it is a very important selling (and competitive) issue when incorrect pricing has been attached to a ebook (high or low).

From reading the CS response it looks like the problem had already been corrected by the time they responded, so they likely assumed the poster had gotten to it via a cached copy (with old data) hence the recommendation to search via kobo.com. Kobo CS generally isn't very good, and they maybe could have explained it better in this case, but I really don't see where they need to escalate it if it's been fixed already.

Exactly my thinking too.

The team responsible for the website probably noticed the error and fixed it. By the time the customer support person received the enquiry and checked the website to see if it was true they would have seen the correct price and thought to themselves "Looks fine to me, what the *beep* is this person going on about, maybe they're not looking at our website or something so I better tell them to always search for books via our website".

Seems a perfectly reasonable response to me.

I found some more wacky pricing, although on the Canadian site. P is for Peril by Sue Grafton is $20.99!!! All the others except P and the newest one are the regular $8.99 price.

What kind of book is this!??! The whole Art of Computer Programming, Knuth included is cheaper and surely better than this unknown thing!
