Want to search my own "webstore"

I notice in kobo/kobo_eReader.conf I can change the webstore details, does anybody know if it's possible to get the kobo to access my own website and search download my own EPUBS etc?

I guess it's probably using a REST service on

ServiceDomain=.kobobooks.com

or something...any info would be appreciated

Hmm looks like potentially I'm on my own...

I guess I need to check the firmware to see how it's being called.

I will report my findings back to THIS thread. You lucky people.

Some time in the past, I have had a brief play with it by simply entering the URLs in a browser and looking at the results. It would be a lot of work to implement the response, but I don't think it would be impossible. The newer firmware looks to using a different set of URLs under "OneStoreServices". These look to be all secure connections and give a userkey error when I try them. That might make it harder to do.

If you do this, it will be interesting to see.

You could also sniff the packets between the device and the internet with something like wireshare, in combination with a packetsniffing AP.
Then you would get a better chance at making your own kobo-compitable software!
Oh, but you would need a method to sniff the HTTPS traffic, maybe a proxy and a self-signed CA(which you would install in the Kobo firmware)?

If you use Calibre to store your books, then a simple way is to install COPS on your server.

http://blog.slucas.fr/en/oss/calibre-opds-php-server

You won't have a "web store" but you can navigate and download books through your Kobo browser. More info in this thread:
