epub to mobi - text alignment problem

Hi everyone,

I have a text alignment problem with Calibre (v1.35).

Today, I wanted to convert the last two books that I purchased in epub format, to mobi and read it on my Kindle. But when Calibre converted it from epub to mobi, the alignment of "main text" (not other sections like Preface, Acknowledgements, etc.) changed from "left" to "centered". When I checked the alignment of epub format in Adobe Digital Editions and in Calibre, it's "Left". When I open the mobi file in Calibre (and in Kindle device), it's centered.

By the way, I tried to change the advanced settings of conversion. I know there is a text alignment setting but changing it did not work either.

Does anyone know what is wrong with Calibre, and how can I fix this issue?

convert to azw3 not mobi.

Converting to azw3 seems to make the problem seems gone, yes. But when I send the book (epub format) to my device through my Kindle email, Calibre forces to convert epub to mobi anyway.

Is there a way to directly email azw3 file, not first by letting Calibre convert it to default mobi file?

amazon does not allow email delivery of azw3, use usb to send this book to your kindle.

There is no real reason to use the Kindle Personal Documents service unless you need to sync between multiple Kindle devices/apps.

However, if you do want to, for whatever reason, it has been reported that Amazon will accept dual-formatted MOBI. Under Preferences ==> Output Options ==> MOBI tab, change File Type to "Both".

Then, when converting to .mobi it will include KF8 and the KF8 section will be sent via the Cloud to your Kindle if the device supports KF8 -- which yours does.

The last time I tried sending a dual MOBI via email, my Kindle got the plain old MOBI part of it. That mayhave changed, since this was a while back.
