Calibre & Kindle for PC
Is there some way I can get the Kindle for PC to download the file with a proper name so it is easier to find it to load it into Calibre?
In a perfect world there would be a plugin that would interact with manage my kindle and i could check for new books directly from Calibre and download them directly to Calibre. Sadly the world is not perfect. Thank you for your help |

Use automatic adding, and periodically download any new books into K4PC. calibre will know what it already has since it will delete it after adding. This will move books into calibre.
And if you use Connect to folder, it should read the metadata of the books and show it in the device list. Right click and "Add book(s) to calibre". If it's already in calibre, and you haven't edited the metadata, there should be a checkmark in the ondevice/inlibrary column -- you can sort on that. This will copy books into calibre. I solve this dilemma by never having more than one book (the one I just purchased) in my Kindle for PC library at any one time. I then import to calibre and remove the book from K4PC.

But if someone wants to use K4PC to read, not just to import to calibre, (unlike the 2 of us,) I don't think it will work quite as well. So it depends on the OP -- perhas method #2 would be better. |
