This work documents the Japanese-American linguists of the U.S. Army during World War II and their struggle to serve in the defense of their country. Despite their detention of their parents in war relocation camps, often with the loss of home and property, many of these men served under fire, not only from the enemy, but from trigger happy Marines and soldiers who did not identify their target.

Through timely interpretation of captured documents, these men saved many lives.
