Annoying last update of app - need to reload ebooks
Does anybody else have to delete all books in the library and reload them all ?
I have the message "The books could not be opened. Please remove the book from your device and redownload it" And I do not have a small library. This is quite upsetting, why can't the books be read again ? What has changed in the 1.10.8 ? Anybody knows ? |

No, I haven't seen that. I just downloaded the new version this morning, and it appears to work exactly as before.

I just upgraded Kindle for PC App and had no problems. Others have upgraded their Android app and had no problems. You must have the Kindle for MAC App.

Has anything changed with regard to your computer's hardware recently? Did you upgrade the software or did you uninstall (saving your library) and then re-install/re-register? Or install the upgrade under a new user account (or the same account with different admin rights)?
Usually upgrading (technically installing over the old version) doesn't cause the problem you're having. But I have seen something similar happen in the above situations I mentioned. They can result in different hardware/user-based tokens being generated for the software. Which means that any books that were downloaded using previous tokens won't be readable by the new version of the software. Hence the reason for re-downloading books that are based on the new security/DRM tokens. Last edited by DiapDealer; 03-22-2014 at 01:33 PM. |
