I just joined, and as I recently got interested in the phenomenon of e-book readers, this forum will certainly be an interesting medium to help me make up my mind, which device to choose Iliad, Sony, the Amazon one etc etc.
In Europe apparently the Sony device is not yet available, and at the moment I find the Iliad a bit price, considering a desktop is about the same
price... In any case, as said, by hearing your reactions I finally hope to be able to make the right decision, especially as many of you have much more experience in this field.
My main interest is in any case PC and Apple, dabbling a bit in accounting-software, trying to do some (amateurish) webdesign, and willing to learn.

Since you're in Europe, you ought to have a look at the Bookeen Gen3 as well. It has its own forum section here, so lots of good info.

Hi jolly joker and welcome to the Forum. Check the Sony Forum. There's a thread there about the Sony being available soon in the UK. Ditto Germany. Auch Deustchland.
