Are these true about the kindle.
I wanted to ask some questions.
Is it true that in the usa you can get a notes app for the basic kindle e-reader and if its not just for the usa, where can i get it? Can you get games for the kindle 4? Where can I get them apart from amazon? How can I change the interface on my kindle 4? How can I put Images on the kindle without the zip file method? What plugins for calibre do you use and what do they do? |

Yes, there is an active content app called Note that will work on the basic Kindle.
There may be some games available for the basic kindle (K4). Look in the Kindle Store under "active content game". Check the compatible devices for each one you are interested in. I'm not going to do it for you. You can't change the interface. You can create documents that contain the images, using Calibre, Mobipocket Creator, etc. I don't use Calibre plugins, so I can't help you there. |

It's US only. I don't think you can get apps for the eink Kindles without access to a US account. |

There are a good assortment of plugins for Calibre here at MR. I use epub merge, fanfiction downloader, generate cover, and find duplicates the most. They are pretty much self describing. I'm sure a good percentage of users probably use AA's plug in (not here at MR) too for backing up their owned ebooks. Of course that one can't be discussed in any depth here on the board though.

For making notes, you can always create a small .txt file, maybe with some headings that you think you might want to make notes about, and copy it to your Kindle. Then make notes to your heart's content in that file.

On the Uk Amazon store there are various notepads for kindle, I did try one a long time ago but I gave up on it, they are not very user friendly.
I would love access to the active content from the US |

They're all basically books with blank pages to which you can add annotations. It's trivial to create such a thing yourself if you want one.

Call me old school :-). But I've never understood those who want to play games on eink readers. Don't you suppose to use it for reading books?

2. yes, you can't get them anywhere else without jail-braking it, if your Kindle is jail-broken you can search the forums for them 3. not sure what you mean by this... if you mean change it so it shows the books in a tiled format instead of list you can't without installing a different OS... 4. you can create a individual book for each picture or put them all in a doc like a previous poster stated 5. many... all doing many different things and I don't remember what all I have so I'll have to add to this later... |
