Aura File System, annotations

Could not find any information to the questions that I want to ask about Kobo Aura.
1. Is there any file browser in this device? Or at least is there a way to divide books into self-made categories in the library? I can see the device shows all books as plain list and as I usually want to have many books, I would like to separate them by authors/categories/any way I define. Or simply a file browser which would show files (books) in folders, it would be better.
2. Do annotations work in books with graphical content (I mean pdfs which contain both graphic and text)? I couldn't make them work.

If you manage your books with calibre, there is an option to auto-create Kobo collections based on arbitrary metadata types.

Thanks. I will take a look.
Though I seem to have found a solution I wanted (more precisely, installing koreader) though have to research into it a bit more.

For the annotations, you can't directly annotate something on the page. You have to set a bookmark by tapping the top-right corner. Then in the annotations list, you can attach a note to the bookmark.
