HDX What's the General Concensus?

Looked again at the HDX, there is so many good deals on this tablet, but everytime I look at it I shake my head at the decision to use blue LED's on a device used at least partly as an ereader. The fact that both the HD2 and the 8.9 HDX did not employ these LED's lead me to believe it was a design decision forced on the unit due to crappy battery life. The unit must have originally had the same LED's as the other device and when it was seen that the battery life sucked they made the last minute switch to try to get as much battery life out of the unit as possible. I'm hoping that just as the original PW was redesigned with more even lighting the HDX2 7" Device might get redesigned to use a better battery tech to allow the unit to go back to the same LED structure as the other devices. Other than the Blue LED's the tablet is a marvel how fast and smooth it is.
