TOC Editor: indenting multiple entries

Maybe I'm missing something, but is it possible to indent multiple entries at once? If not, I would like this to be a feature request

It would be very nice to be able to select multiple entires, and then press CTRL-Right to indent them all at the same time. Almost indispensable to have if one is editing a book that has 5 parts, with 20 chapters per part, because "Generate TOC from files" generates a flat TOC

Why wouldn't you change the CSS associated with the TOC to do the indents?

I could change the TOC.NCX file... not any CSS. I'm talking about the TOC Editor, that edits the in-book TOC, not about editing any inline HTML TOC.

Since I tend to generate the TOC (NCX) from headers, I set all headers to h3, then use the TOC editor to outdent (raise the H#) those few that need it.

Maybe you missed it because it's not a menu item.

• Highlight all the level 2 entries you want to indent
• Drag-drop them onto the level 1 parent entry

Thanks I mainly use hotkeys wherever possible, so I've never thought of dragging and dropping a bunch of entries upon another.

I see I forgot to give you some karma for that answer. Fixed

Splitting an omnibus flattens the TOC, and fixing this was always one of the bigger tasks and the most tedious one. Now it's so much faster It's mentioned in several places that you can drag-and-drop entries but I never tried it with multiple entries at once

Still, I think that pressing CTRL-Right should indent all selected TOC entries. It's only logical

It does happen

Sometimes he convinces US that it is not the way to go .

Sometimes he agrees with us, but the building blocks used (libraries) take on the other meaning of BLOCK and prevent it.
