Hi all.
Is it possible to have 2 separate Calibre programs on one computer? I already have Calibre on our computer with over 1000 books of mine in it. My daughter also has an ereader and at the moment her 600+ books are just on an SD card. I dont want to have both her books and mine in the same Calibre. I want to be able to browse through all my books without having to see all hers too, and vice versa. I tried downloading a different version of Calibre but it just wanted to replace my existing one. Is there a way to have 2 Calibre's on one computer please? ![]() |

Or you could create Virtual Libraries: Mine and Hers based on a regular or custom column tag

@Chapter One - If your daughter is old enough to have an ereader with 600 books then I'm guessing she's probably old enough to have her own calibre installation with a bit of start up help from you know who
So... assuming you're using Windows, and you want to go the whole nine-yards then you could install a calibre portable for your daughter, and then she can have her own library and a calibre configuration which she can customise how she wants it to be. You could even put it on a thumb drive, then there'd be even less confusion. BR |

Or, again if using Windows, create a User Account for your daughter in Windows on your PC. Open that account and run Calibre; it will take you through creating a new library for that account and that will be completely separate from yours.
For her to get to her library she logs into her own account and just runs Calibre. |
