Open source device emulators pretty much don't exist. There are proprietary no charge ones for Nook and Sony.

Every device manufacturer does their own thing, and calls what THEY do EPUB ![]() Even the Branded emulators don't always perform the same as the device they were made for. The professionals like Hitch have shelves of devices to do actual visual tests upon. There is no single Magic test |

I think the enterprises in epub bloc are just lazy or foolish. Adobe is very lazy, B&N is a little foolish. They just don't produce any emulator. Comparing to Amazon's Kindle Previewer, they are too shameful. |

However...{sigh}, yes, the dreaded shelf exists, although it's actually a 4' x 4' low table that abuts the right-hand-side of my desk (to accommodate all the chargers). Plus I tend to give devices (curiously enough, the ones we don't already have!) to staff for Xmas bonuses. That's a two-fer. ("Len, lemme borrow that HDX for a moment, wouldja?") LOL. I know, I know, I'm evil. Hitch |
