Holding your Kindle: GripSmart
Hi everybody,
here is an addition to my Kindle Paperwhite that makes reading in bed even better. I read lying on my back and had to hold the thing fingers spread and the weight resting on my Pinky. Well, no more. You could certainly argue about prettyness but usefulness is beyond discussion! :-) I bought a GripSmart and attached it to my reader. |

Seems like rather a silly idea to me. Do you really find the PW difficult to hold?

No telling what that tape will do to the back of the Kindle when removed. It is probably going to either not stay attached or mess up the Kindle's surface when removed.

I can see it bring useful for someone with arthritis in their hands, perhaps, but not for a healthy person.

@DerSarek-
Thanks for sharing!! A novel do-it-yourself fix for the problem you were having and it may spur other creative types. As far as the aesthetics go, everything is pretty when you're in bed and in the dark!! ![]() @HarryT- Lighten up... he had the courage to post a remedy for a problem he was experiencing in the hopes someone else might find it useful...How is that 'silly'? ![]() |

I actually do something similar. I have a cover on my K4NT that folds backwards. On the part that bends back behind the reader I have a couple hair bands, really glorified rubber bands. I stick my hand through them to help hold when my hands are very very dry.

Hi,
regarding any problems with the tape, it has been sticking very well for an couple of months now and I have already replaced it once as I didn't fix it in the best spot on the first try. It didn't mess anything up on the backside at all. I don't have Athritis or anything. I just like to read holding the Kindle with one hand. When lying on my back and holding the thing up I didn't have any issues with my K2 and K4 before. The PW is my first one with touch capability and that is easier to operate in the position mentioned above with the GripSmart attached. VERY comfortable. Anybody who tried it agreed. And as GoSharks said, I am just sharing what I am doing. Not pressing it on anybody. So, it works for me and anybody in the same situation might appreciate it. Missing prettyness notwithstanding. :-) Have a good one! DerSarek |

I wouldn't mind one of those to stick to the shell case on my phone. Thanks, DerSarek.
