How do you find and delete a character?

I can use "find" in code view and find the character then delete it with the delete key, on my keyboard. But I can't find a way to "replace" it with a delete action. I have a large epub that needs this character removed from both code and text.

This is so simple a question but I can't find an answer anywhere.

Luck;
Ken

Leave the replace BLANK (backspace to be sure there is not a Space char there)

Find: -
Replace: <nothing>

Thanks, I had tried that but not the backspace, so there might have been a space there.

I didn't find that spelled out anywhere, I guess it is expected to be so obvious that it is not mentioned.

The suggestions that contain non-printing chars can get you.
Always do a

(visually check the results)

a few times before 'Replace All'

A SAVE BEFORE a replace -all is a very good idea

Yeah, Sigil isn't really good at handling global changes, might want to try calibre's Edit Book feature. No import necessary, it can be run via ebook-edit.exe on arbitrary epub files, and supports global undo.

you have to be very careful with trailing spaces in the replace field - its very easy to have an unintended one & if you did replace all without making a previous save....
