Kindle for Android font changes

I recently installed Kindle for Android on my rooted Nook Simple Touch, and pasted a mobi ebook on the Kindle folder of my sd card. I can read the ebook perfectly, but the text is too small for comfortable reading. I tried to find a way to increase font size (and change the font itself) but was unable to find any way to do anything to the font except change its darkness.

Can anyone help with increasing font size?

When the book is open in Kindle for Android, press in the center of the screen. You will then see a font size menu on the top right. It's labeled Aa. Select the size you want there.

DreamWriter,
Thanks for the rapid reply. I think we have a slightly different version of Kindle for Android, but what you suggested worked fine. Pressing in the page center did not cause anything to happen the upper right, but rather at the bottom of the page, with the option to change sizes:

Pressing on the center of the screen produces the appearance of two bars - the bottom one shows how far reading has progressed, the upper bar has a menu button (the usual Nook menu button) in the center of the bar - pressing the menu button opens a small screen page bottom - on pressing 'view options', 5 different size letters 'Aa' of different sizes appear, and tapping on the size wanted, causes the ebook font to change to that size. There seems no way to change the font face.

The 5 different sizes are enough to provide a nicely sized text for comfortable reading.

I'm glad that you were able to change the font size! You are correct; there is no way to change font face in Kindle for Android.

According to information at Google Play, the Kindle app version can vary by device. It does sound like we have different versions. I have version 3.5.1.1 on each of my two tablets. One tablet is running Android 4.0.3 and the other is currently Android 3.2.

You can adjust text size by two finger pinch/spread, much like the Paperwhite and Kindle Touch. This feature has been there for awhile so it may work in the version you're using.

Thanks but nook doesn't have that feature. The above solution worked though. :-)

The Android Nook eReader app has the choice of five fonts -- not quite sure why the Android Kindle app lags here.

And the Kindle for iOS app has six font choices and the option to allow any publisher included fonts. I suspect Amazon has purposely limited their non-Kindle Fire version of their Kindle for Android app to discourage people like me from buying a non-Amazon, Android tablet.

I had the same issue on my Nook, so I used screen density app and increased it from 160 to 260. Perfect size (even dictionary window gets bigger).
