Samsung Galaxy Note 8in.

Anyone have experience with this device? I was given one with 16GB internal storage with micro SD card slot. But device doesn't seem to want me to move stuff to the ext card, altho it registers the card is there it seems like apps are still on the internal storage. Any ideas? Thank you!

Jelly Bean doesn't allow you to move apps to external storage. The only way around it that I'm aware of is to root the device.

Had almost forgotten that. But I thought I could direct my ebook storage through Calibre Companion to the ext sd card? I tried setting the path that way and it tld me it couldn't create that folder. Perhaps typed the path incorrectly?

If the sd card is new you might need to format it. Most older units use FAT32 formatting. You can do it on your pc reader or in settings on the note 8 there should be a way to format it.

As to moving programs, as has been mentioned it may not be possible. Look in Apps manager and see if there is an option for this. I don't have my unit with me or I'd check for you.

My Note 8 has the option to move apps to the external SD card. There must have been an OTA update somewhere along the way. Mine has Android version 4.2.2, Kernel version 3.0.31-1475545.

I agree about formatting the card. Got a new 64GB card that I had to format before it would see the whole thing, but most of my other cards would work fine without having to format.
