1.16 can't delete custom column
Also can't select a data type other than text when creating a custom column

I can reproduce neither of those symptoms, nor have there been any changes to custom column handling in 1.16

Well what can I do to unstick it? Because its stuck - I can't delete the column. I can only hide it. When I try to delete it, it says it deletes it, takes it out of the list of columns in the column view - but as soon as I exit and come back, the column is still there. I've tried shutting it down and restarting - still there.
And btw - I don't do anything weird with calibre, and I don't have a whole lot of stuff in there at this point - this is the first time I've tried to customize anything (other than just moving columns around to the order I want them to be in) |

Remember to click apply when you are done deleting the column.

I'm pretty sure I did that - because I kept getting the popup that says you have to restart Calibre before you can do anything else. Anyway no joy this time ... I'll reboot the system and try again ... later ... because it's 4 AM here and I must needs get some shuteye ... will report back after reboot. Many hours from now.

For what it's worth, just tested it on a newly updated 1.16. Can't reproduce that problem. I can create a date column, update it with some values, and remove it without a trace.

After reboot - it is OK again now. Thanks. I should have thought of a reboot to start with ... but 4 am and all that ....
