Kobo website now has a cart for ebooks

I just noticed this today, I can now add ebooks to a cart on the Kobo website. During checkout the first probo code entered gets applied to the first book in the cart, enter another and it gets applied to the next book.

They finally got carts at Kobo! Wow, it's suddenly 1995 in Canada and no one told them... Sorry for the collateral damage innocent(surely there must be some) Canadians, I'm picking on Kobo... ;-)

Anyone else amazed that the "New" owner e-retailer Rakuten took this long to get carts on the Kobo website?

Also no cart for our regional store. It would be a huge welcome since my CC company doesn't allow more than 7 purchases a day from the same retailer.

I can see the cart, too, and I am in the UK (still - in Scotland ) - the cart symbol is to the left of the green button for logging in. If you select a book, then the downside pointing arrow to the right of "buy now", an option appears in the dropdown to add the book to the cart.

Cart is also active over here. I had to clear my cache and remove the Kobo cookies stored on my browser. Will need to investigate how coupons are handled now.

Update:
Played around with some of the coupons:
Seems Kobo will automatically apply the highest coupon to the most expensive title in the cart. You then need to add any other coupons you have.

Unlimited use coupons seem to be problematic. I tested 50Dec and was only able to apply it once to a cart containing 3 titles.

I've done quite a few purchases throughout the day and must say that the cart is a huge improvement to their site. Since you can't use one coupon more than once per cart session I've been buying in batches of 3 which worked very well. The only improvement I think would be necessary is to allow multi-use coupons more than once per session.

I'm a bit confused: is the Kobo website shop now in localised currency?

I can't find anywhere to specify what currency I want it to display prices in — for me they're showing up as $, but is that US or Australian?

Two things that confuse me about it: a lot of books on my wishlist are now showing up as *cheaper* than Amazon US prices when converted to AU$, which isn't the way it usd to be pre-Rakuten; and the prices are now identical to those on the Angus & Robertson website here in Australia, whch *is* in AU$. So ... can anyone please clarify?

Thanks!

I'm not from Aus, but the site should be localised to your currency (AU$) I've also read that Amazon has also localised their site for AU so those prices are also in AU$ which might explain price differences (I know people complained that Amazon suddenly got much more expensive).

For my region Kobo charges in our local currency ZAR.
