My KPW2 cannot 'truly' disconnect for my PC

Hi ~
I have a problem with my Kindle paperwhite2

When I disconnected my Kindle from my PC, BUT didnot pull out the USB line from my PC, my Kindle would NOT return to the Kindle system.
It stays in the 'Connectint to ... Do not disconnect ...' status, UNTIL I pull out the USB line?

My Kindle paperwhite2 is of version 5.4.2

My Kindle returns to its previous state when I eject it from my iMac.

On the other hand, my Kobo Aura HD still says it's connected, even after I eject it from the iMac. It doesn't return to its previous state until I pull the USB plug.

I don't worry about it.

It is not handy if so. Anyway, my Kindle paperwhite 1 works well.
If Kinle does not 'truly' disconnect from my PC, it can not be used while it is being charged, through my PC's USB hub

The PW2 can be 'disconnected' (ejected) from your computer while still having it plugged in via USB cable so that you can use it while charging. Not sure why yours isn't...I would try all of the different ways on your computer to eject it as a drive until you find the one that works. If you need help, you'll need to give more computer info (ie- OS, etc).
If you are ejecting it via Calibre's eject device button/menu, that frequently doesn't work on my computer and I need to go through the My Computer / eject drive.
