Kindle for Android wants Amazon UK password

I'm an American but I spend about half of my time in Spain, where I'm staying at the moment. I've always used Amazon.com rather than .uk or .es, but I've just downloaded the latest version of Kindle for Android, and when I try to use it, it asks me for an Amazon UK password.

Is there any way I can forego this? I'm afraid that if I do Amazon is going to force me to buy all of my books from Amazon UK, which is something I'd really like to avoid.

Is it actually saying "Enter Amazon UK password"? Is your account registered to amazon.com? And the country set to US?

I've not heard of an app asking for a password for a specific country before.

When I open the app, there is button that says Start Reading. I click on that and up pops a screen the says "Amazon.co.uk" at the top and below that...

Wait a sec...

It's just accepted my Amazon.com password, which it wouldn't do before, so I suppose everything is okay now.

There's no such thing as an "Amazon UK password". With the exception of Amazon Japan, Amazon accounts are shared world-wide. Ie, you can log onto ANY Amazon site with the login credentials you use at any other.
