Calibre Stopped Creating Collections...

In light of, or actually in the absence thereof, a recent problem with the LED lighting on my Glo I decided to update my Touch with all my latest library additions in preparation for being possibly parted from the Glo for repair.

Well, I just couldn't get the shelves to build on the Touch. I ended up signing in and out, and eventually deleting every book on the device and the sqlite database, but still couldn't figure out why I couldn't get my shelves/collections to rebuild. Eventually, I went back to Peter's sticky concerning shelves and found the answer. Somehow, the driver was missing some info. In the area for shelf info, #myshelves, series was missing! Not an obvious one, and it just shows that it's always good to go back to the beginning and check EVERYTHING.

I've since figured out that I had to restore the OS on the laptop I'm running Calibre on a while back and somehow the backup copy of calibre and my library didn't restore that one bit of crucial info. I think I just put a new copy of Calibre on the laptop and only copied the library so that might explain it. The Glo and Calibre seemed fine because the shelves were already built on it.

Just goes to show that starting from the beginning and the methodical approach is often the best. I sincerely hope my evening's troubleshooting experience benefits someone else. While I am relieved, I am not pleased at how long it took to find such relief.
