Saw a post about this earlier on the forums at Amazon. Wouldn't mind test driving an HDX 8.9 for 30 days just to be "sure". A friend bought one and I've played with it a little, very nice device.

Of course anyone can do a 30 day trial if they're willing to pay up front and pay return shipping, but this offer makes it just a little more enticing.

The other plus to the trial is that if you don't like it, you don't have to pay for return shipping. Shipping is free if your Kindle has a defect but you pay for shipping if you are returning because you don't like it.

So not a bad deal. We got the offer but won't be using it. We have 2 iPads in the house. If we decide to use one for the LM sometime in the future, one of us will get a new iPad and he will inherit the iPad3. (shrugs)

Finally ordered my first Kindle with this offer. I was already planning on buying a Paperwhite in early January. This moved my purchase ahead by a month.

Wish they'd send me this one! I'd love to put a new Fire through its paces, if only to contrast it against the iPads we already have. I'm pretty sure it'd end up going back, but hey, Amazon, convince me!
